JOB OVERVIEW

Tribe Kelley Surf Post is looking for a motivated and experienced Retail Store & Events Manager (SM) to lead operations at Tribe Kelley Surf Post. This role goes beyond traditional retail—our Surf Post location is also a community hub and backyard music venue. We're seeking someone who thrives in both structured store management and dynamic event settings, and who's excited to help grow and shape this space.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Retail Store Management:

  - Oversee all day-to-day store operations

  - Manage and train retail staff; motivate team, delegate responsibilities, and maintain accountability

  - Schedule shifts, approve payroll, and maintain adequate store coverage

  - Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer issues when needed

  - Manage store inventory, stock levels, and restocks in coordination with Buyer

  - Maintain merchandising standards and participate in floor set changes and remerchandising

  - Track and report weekly store performance, sales, and customer feedback

  - Handle light lifting and maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the shop

  - Work with Shopify POS system; provide troubleshooting or direction to the team as needed

   

• Concert & Backyard Venue Support:

  - Serve as a key coordinator for Surf Post Sessions and live music events

  - Manage and delegate staff roles during concerts (guest check-in, merch table, store operations, etc.)

  - Adjust and oversee retail flow during concerts to maintain a cohesive experience

  - Ensure the space is event-ready and reset post-show

   

• Community Event Support:

  - Assist in planning and executing community events like seasonal Farmers Markets, pop-ups, and brand collaborations

  - Coordinate vendor communication, set-up logistics, and operational flow- Work with internal marketing teams to promote events and drive traffic

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum 2+ years in a management position (retail or hospitality preferred)

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Must be comfortable managing a team and providing constructive feedback

- Experienced using Shopify or similar POS systems

- Must be able to lift light to moderate weight and stand for extended periods

- Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks during high-traffic days or events

- Passion for community, music, ethical fashion, and small business is a big plus
